House by the side of the road
At our October 19, 2021 Board Meeting the following resolution was passed
The House by the Side of the Road requires that everyone (including fully vaccinated individuals) wear a mask indoors, unless you meet one of the criteria for a specific exemption, including:
Those under 2 years old,
Removing your mask temporarily for identification or communication with someone who is hearing impaired or for whom English is not their first language,
Performing a professional public safety role with which a mask would interfere,
Volunteers working alone, socially distanced, or
Volunteers working out of our client spaces and fully vaccinated.
For clients who cannot medically tolerate a mask, we welcome those clients to send in a designee who is able to wear a mask to shop for them.
The more effective N-95 masks are available for volunteers to use if they wish.
Volunteers and clients should maintain at least a 6-foot distance from each other.
If individuals must be closer than 6 feet they should insure time spent inside that distance is fewer than 15 minutes.
If a volunteer is uncomfortable helping a client check out (or any other action), another volunteer (who is comfortable) or the House Manager, will help with the check-out or other action as needed.
